Haryana Minister Defines Departmental Roles in New Order
In a bid to bring clarity and efficiency to his department, Haryana's Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has laid out a detailed delegation order that specifies which officer has the authority to make particular decisions. From the appointment of Group A officers to the mundane task of writing off a lost typewriter, the new directive leaves no room for ambiguity.
The minister's decision comes at a time when the department is undergoing significant changes, not least the recruitment of nearly 1,637 teaching positions in the Mewat cadre. Dhanda informed the legislative assembly that the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) would complete this recruitment within four to five months.
By issuing this order, Dhanda aims to streamline decision-making processes within the education department. The directive is expected to expedite administrative functions that often get bogged down in bureaucratic red tape. "It's about clarity," Dhanda remarked, "ensuring everyone knows their role and responsibilities."
Alongside these organisational changes, Dhanda has also mandated that all official communications within the department be conducted in Hindi. This has sparked discussions among government circles, highlighting both cultural and practical implications.
The strategic delegation of duties is seen as a part of a broader effort to prepare the department for upcoming challenges, including the General Lok Sabha Elections 2024. As the education sector plays a crucial role in state development, efficient administration is paramount.
Dhanda's approach reflects a growing trend in Haryana's governance to ensure accountability and transparency. By clearly defining roles, the minister aims to foster an environment where educational policies can be implemented more effectively, benefiting both educators and students.
