Karnataka's Health Department Targets Food Safety with New Task Forces

Karnataka's Health Department has announced the formation of 30 special teams dedicated to inspecting food establishments across Bengaluru. Comprising seasoned officials from the Food Safety and Administration Department, these teams are set to conduct surprise inspections across various high-traffic areas and well-known locations. With an arsenal of over 3,400 testing kits, of which 1,000 have already been deployed, these teams are well-equipped to detect violations and enforce standards. The inspections are planned to coincide with special drives on August 30 and 31, targeting district and taluk centres.
Dr. Rajeev Kumar, an official from the Health Department, emphasised the importance of the initiative. "We are committed to ensuring that the food our citizens consume is safe and of high quality. These inspections are a step towards achieving that goal," he stated.
