In the heart of Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region, the Liwa International Festival 2027 is poised to enchant visitors with its eclectic mélange of culture and entertainment. Set against the backdrop of the sprawling Liwa desert, the festival will run from 11th December 2026 to 2nd January 2027, promising a wealth of new experiences.
This year's festival sees the debut of the renowned Nitro Circus, an international action sports entertainment brand, marking a thrilling addition to the event's lineup. Over half of the attractions at Liwa Village have been either newly introduced or meticulously reimagined, ensuring fresh excitement for both returning visitors and first-timers alike.
Celebrating Emirati Heritage
A highlight of the 2027 edition is the inauguration of the first-ever Heritage Village, a dedicated space offering a window into the rich tapestry of Emirati culture. Visitors can immerse themselves in traditional crafts, music, and cuisine, gaining insight into the region's storied past and vibrant present.
The festival is orchestrated by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) in collaboration with local entities such as the Liwa Sports Club and Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority. This collaboration underscores the commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage while embracing modern entertainment.

Liwa has long been a cornerstone of the UAE's winter calendar, drawing crowds with its blend of adrenaline-pumping motorsport championships and family-friendly activities. The 2027 edition continues this tradition, with events designed to appeal to all ages and interests.
Moreover, the festival's international entertainment show promises to be a spectacle of global talent, engaging audiences with performances that span cultures and continents.
As the festival approaches, anticipation is mounting for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of culture, adventure, and entertainment in the Al Dhafra region.
