PM Modi to Inspire Youth at Khelo India Dialogue on Sports Day
In a move poised to galvanise the nation's youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 'Khelo India Dialogue' on 27 August, just days before National Sports Day. This year, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has orchestrated a spectacular event, 'Khelo India Samvad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath', to be held across two colleges in every district of Punjab, Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Modi, speaking via video conferencing, aims to connect with young athletes and students, emphasising the role of sports in fostering national unity and personal development. The programme is part of a broader initiative by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), which seeks to ignite a spirit of enthusiasm and aspiration among the youth.
Yuva Samwad: Voices of Tomorrow
A central feature of the event, 'Yuva Samwad', will allow students to present their ideas and perspectives directly to the Prime Minister. This dialogue is designed to empower the youth, offering them a platform to express their dreams and ambitions within the realm of sports and beyond.
“Sports are not merely about winning medals, but about building an active and healthy lifestyle,” Modi is expected to convey, reinforcing his government's commitment to nurturing India’s sporting talent.
National Sports Day: A Tribute to Dhyan Chand
The date holds special significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of India’s most celebrated hockey players. National Sports Day is a tribute to his legacy and a reminder of the power of sports to inspire and unite.
As India continues to make strides on the global sporting stage, events like the 'Khelo India Dialogue' are crucial in building momentum and encouraging youth participation. With Modi’s address, the initiative promises to not only celebrate the achievements of past athletes but also lay the groundwork for future champions.
