Urgent Call for Community-Led Action Against Ebola in DRC
In the shadow of a rapidly intensifying Ebola outbreak, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have issued a clarion call for urgent, community-driven action in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). During a recent meeting with DRC President Felix Tshisekedi, both organisations underscored the importance of empowering local communities. This strategy, they assert, is crucial in transforming the tide of the outbreak that has already left countless affected and communities in distress.
