White Knight Corps Unveils Cutting-Edge Sports Facilities at Jammu Sainik School
On a crisp autumn morning, the serene campus of Jammu Sainik School buzzed with excitement as the White Knight Corps unveiled its latest endeavour to bolster physical education. The inauguration of state-of-the-art sports facilities was led by the General Officer Commanding, Lt Gen P K Mishra, who emphasised the importance of sports in nurturing discipline and resilience among young cadets.
Lt Gen Mishra, addressing a gathering of students and faculty, remarked, "These facilities are not just about sports; they are about building character and instilling a sense of achievement." The new infrastructure includes a multi-purpose sports hall, a modern gymnasium, and an athletics track, offering a comprehensive environment for physical training.
Jammu Sainik School, known for its rigorous academic and physical training programmes, stands to benefit greatly from this enhancement. The new facilities are expected to serve over 500 cadets, providing them with the resources to excel not only in academics but also in various sports disciplines.
While the primary objective is to elevate the school's sports standards, the initiative is also part of a broader strategy by the Indian Army to instil a culture of fitness and discipline. This aligns with the government's educational reforms aimed at holistic development, as evidenced by the recent announcement to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across India.
