Amit Shah Launches World Archery Para Series in Ahmedabad
In a momentous occasion for Indian sports, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the World Archery Para Series 2026 in Ahmedabad. This marks the first time India has hosted this prestigious event, which is set to welcome para-athletes from across the globe.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shah underscored the cultural and spiritual wealth of India, drawing attention to the global acceptance of yoga, now embraced by 170 countries. He noted, 'Our government has tirelessly worked to enrich and spread the diverse languages and religions of India.' His remarks resonated with the theme of unity and inclusivity, principles that underpin both the event and the broader governmental vision.
The World Archery Para Series is not merely a competition; it serves as a testament to the resilience and determination of para-athletes who continue to challenge the limits of physical ability. By hosting this event, India reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive sporting environment, where athletes of all abilities can shine.
Promoting Cultural Heritage
Shah also took the opportunity to reflect on the teachings of Srimanta Shankar Dev Ji, emphasising the importance of living a virtuous life and viewing the country as one's motherland. 'These teachings,' he said, 'are integral to our identity and guide us in promoting peace and harmony.'
The inauguration coincided with the opening of the Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute (GREMI) Campus, which Shah hailed as a pioneering initiative for comprehensive development in the real estate sector—an area often overlooked in terms of formal education and strategic growth.
This dual inauguration aligns with the broader narrative of development and cultural enrichment, themes that have become synonymous with the current administration's objectives. As the World Archery Para Series unfolds, it will not only showcase sporting excellence but also highlight India's role as a global hub for cultural and athletic exchange.
