Gurugram Teen Combines Tennis and Technology with AI Innovation
On the tennis courts of Gurugram, the sound of a ball meeting a racquet might not seem out of the ordinary. Yet, for Priyansh Agarwal, a Class 12 student and national-level player, it was the echo of curiosity that led to a technological breakthrough. While others simply played the game, Priyansh asked a question: why do shots go astray?
Thus was born TennEdge, an AI-powered tool designed to help tennis players understand and rectify their mistakes. Using motion-sensing technology, it provides detailed insights into every stroke, helping athletes refine their techniques with scientific precision.
The Birth of TennEdge
Priyansh, a student at Delhi Public School, Gurugram, merged his passion for tennis and technology to create TennEdge. What started as a personal project to improve his game has now evolved into a promising tool for fellow athletes. By analysing the biomechanics of each shot, TennEdge offers players a comprehensive breakdown of what went right or wrong.
"I wanted to bridge the gap between traditional coaching and modern technology," Priyansh explained. "Understanding the intricacies of each movement can significantly enhance performance."
Piloting Innovation
The project is currently being piloted in various tennis academies. Coaches and players are beginning to see the value in a data-driven approach to sports training. As Priyansh continues to refine TennEdge, the potential for broader application looms large.
In a world where sports technology is rapidly evolving, TennEdge could pave the way for more intelligent training methods, not just in tennis but across various sports. Priyansh’s endeavour is a testament to the potential that lies at the intersection of youthful curiosity and technological innovation.
